It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas !!!
We got a nice snow today... definitely starting to look like Christmas in Mid-Michigan
Bailey went home this weekend !
The puppies are at eight weeks and are doing fantastic.. they've all gotten their first shots and had their vet check ups and are good to go.
Jameson the Sesame male is quite the little chunk.. while Killian is a slender girl
Invite you to jump over to our photo gallery and check them out.

Great Lakes Shiba Inu is proud to announce the arrival of 3 new Shiba puppies to the world !
A male seasme (perhaps Red), a female seasme (unlikely to be red) and a female black and tan.
All puppies are healthy and look great !
Jada is doing very well, she is normally a high-strung Shiba regularily, so to call her uber-high strung at the moment would be an understatement.
Deposits are now being accepted.. you can email me at

Quick Vet check today and we have confirmed puppies !!
Three expected pups probably around the first week of October.
This will be Jada's first litter and we are very happy we made the decision to go forward.
We are not taking deposits right now, we want to get farther into the pregnancy before we do that.

After much thought and deliberation, we have decided not to place Takara.
Mika is getting to the point in the life, she doesn't need to have any more puppies.
So we are going to get her fixed and keep Takara to continue Mika's blood line.

On January 25th, Great Lakes Shiba Inu was very happy to welcome Takara to the world !!
Takara is a wonderfully healthy, sesame little girl.
Mika went into labor about 4pm on Friday evening and my 6pm we had a little girl.
Now.. unfortantely, it wasn't all good news.
Mika is an older lady and she seemed to be very tired, in fact, exhausted following Takara's delivery.
She didn't really want to push anymore. I had been forewarned that this might be an issue and isn't uncommon with older dogs.
