My wife and I are still not really over what happen with Takara yet, but we have decided to go forward with this breeding of Jada.
Jada is a great girl, she has a special personality. She has a quirk about her, a flare in her eye which is more mischevious then Mika ever had. Mika was very stately and elegant, like she knew everything and nothing surprised her. Jada is a bit rougher around the corners, a little more unpredictable.
Jada is also a bit on the smaller side, even smaller then Mika.
I know that many breeders will say that's bad, that there is a breed spec and that breeding outside that spec is bad.. but I enjoy the smaller Shiba and if your looking for a smallish Shiba then we will be the breeder for you.
I found the smaller Shiba to be more active (as if that's possible), have better temperments and make for a better house dog.
They still need their outdoor time and like all Shiba's love to run (leashes required !), but just like there are small Yorkies and small Shelties, these will be smaller Shiba's.
Now.. this is not to be confused with Toy or Mini breeds.. these are in now way going to be under 10 pound dogs, if that is what you are looking for, you need to stick with those types of breeds.
Brady is a solid, 18 pound male right smack dab in the middle of the AKC standard. But Jada is smaller and just below the bottom.. so the puppies should be smallish, but doesn't mean they will be.
